The Worcester Fitness Aikido program allows
interested persons to train in a convenient setting,
located in a popular Worcester fitness facility,
while maintaining the traditional teachings of
the art without compromising the quality of instruction
or training. The program is open to both Worcester
Fitness members and nonmembers and meets twice
per week. Class is conducted in the same manner
as a basic Aikido class at the main branch. The
program is geared toward beginning level students
who are new to the art. Students learn the fundamental
self-defense techniques of Aikido, while at the
same time focusing on the greater principles of
Aikido such as awareness, patience and service.
Students of the Aikido program at Worcester Fitness
enjoy all of the same benefits of dojo membership
as the students at the main branch. As soon as
the student joins the program, they are part of
Zenshinkan Dojo and the national organization
with which we are affiliated, the Aikido Association
of America. It is through this membership that
students of the Worcester Fitness Aikido Program
accumulate class hours, become eligible for promotion
tests and earn rank. All students in this program
are welcome and encouraged to visit the main branch
of the dojo and participate in regional seminars
to expand their knowledge of Aikido and to meet
more people within the Aikido community. We encourage
all interested persons to come to Worcester Fitness
during one of the scheduled class times to watch
a class and look forward to bringing the art of
Aikido directly to you through the Worcester Fitness
Aikido Program.
